GETAC E100 and B300 Tablet PCs

GETAC Inc., the skilful company known for the manufacturing of rugged computers, has recently introduced extreme lightweight GETAC E100 slate style tablet PC along with the GETAC B300 Laptop at the DistribuTECH 2008 Conference and Exhibition organized at the Tampa Convention Centre.

The GETAC E100 weighs only 3 pounds. It is available with the casing of watertight magnesium alloy meeting MIL-STD-810F and IP54 acquiescence standards. This certifies the casing’s capability to offer protection against dirt, dust, water, motion, shocks and other factors that would otherwise severely damage PC. This PC has been specifically designed for customer service and field applications. Beyond its tough attire, you can find an 8.4-inch TFT SVGA screen with integrated touch screen panel and customizable numeric keypad.

Other specifications comprise an 800MHz Intel Stealey 512KB L2 cache processor, 800 Nits of luminance, up to 1GB of DDRII DRAM, 60 to 100 GB shock-resistant hard disk drive and an array of expandable “mission boxes”.


Common features of both E100 and B300 constitute:

  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • Integrated GPS
  • 802.11b/g wireless LAN connectivity
  • EV-DO and GPRS/EDGE networks
  • TPM v 1.2
  • Fingerprint scanner

The B300 comes with a Cable lock slot along with card reader in whereas with E100, you can take benefit of TPM v 1.2 and Kensington lock.

The fully rugged notebook PC GETAC B300 has weight of 7.7-pound is precisely planned for mobile users. It is designed to meet the U.S. Army’s MIL-STD-3009 compliance standard. It’s a 13.3 inch widescreen with touchscreen panel lappy that feels happy even in the mud. It features an Intel Core 2 Duo Merom L7500 with 4MB L2 cache processor at 1.6Hz.. Boasting 1200 Nit display the PC allows outstanding clarity even in direct sunlight. The unit also includes 512MB DDRII DRAM with the capacity of upgrade up to 4GB, 80/120GB shock-resistant HDD, and sealed ports and connector cover.

Sadly, we are not given the price value of this rugged PC but we can assume it to be affordable to get on to the safer side.
