Today I just go on with one of the most useful topics here – file extensions. And in case you think it is not very exciting to read about them, let me remind you that nobody talks about doc. or exe. files, I am going to share with you information about rather rare extensions, but their ignorance can cause a lot of problems. 

The first one is – file extension CTT. It is strongly associated with Windows Live messenger. So every time you see such extensions, think about backups of a user’s contact list. In order to open .CTT files you need Windows Live messenger. If you simply need to review the general content of the files you are welcome to open them with any text editor you have.

And the second one is – file extension DIVX. Every time you see this extension you can think about some rest, because DIVX is a file extension associated with a DIVX-encoded movie.

One pleasant thing about this format. Since DIVX is an extension to the AVI file format, you don’t need any special programs in order to enjoy the movie. Any media player will play the main movie.
