Your measurements will be extremely accurate as the display can show up to 1/16 of an inch, just like an ordinary tape measure. The other good feature is that it can add several measurements together, which would be useful when measuring something that is longer than the whole tape. It turns on when you pull out the tape and turns off when the tape is fully retracted back inside.
