Digital Measuring Tape

This is one of those “I wonder why nobody has invented this before” items.

A regular measuring tape with LCD screen! What else in the world can be more simple? This device has a large readable LCD screen and the capability to memorize your measurements with the push of a button. It provides measurement in feet and inches or metrical units. Your measurements will be extremely accurate as the display can show up to 1/16 of an inch, just like an ordinary tape measure. The other good feature is that it can add several measurements together, which would be useful when measuring something that is longer than the whole tape. It turns on when you pull out the tape and turns off when the tape is fully retracted back inside.

ThinkGeek offers this Digital Measuring Tape for $25 only! That’s not expensive at all!

Specifications:

  • Tape length is 16 feet
  • Displays 5 different measurement formats (feet inches fractions, inches fractions, inches decimal, feet decimal, centimeters decimal)
  • Takes two LR44 batteries (included)
  • Dimensions: 3″ x 2.75″ x 1.3″

Wow, this small oven is something that what I call “geeky”! Created specially for desktop usage, it is perfect to be placed on your home or office desk, near to all your favorite gadgets. Remember, how many times you’ve dreamed to reheat your cup of coffee or sandwiches from home right on your working place, not moving to kitchen and standing in line for microwave oven? SkyMall has prepared a really good solution for such things:

Iwavecube Personal Microwave

This is the Iwavecube Personal Microwave, a small (10″ x 10.5″ x 12) but fully functional (and it has all the electronic controls and safety features of “real” ovens) microwave that will fulfill all your desktop needs in reheating something. Maybe it’s to small, it’s enough to place a cup of coffee, some instant soup or mid sized sandwich, but nothing bigger. Anyway, I think that the price – $129.95 is not so high for such nice desktop device.

Digital Alcohol Sensor

Digital Alcohol Sensor provided by Paramount Zone will be your personal drinking guide – you’ll always know when it’s enough. I guess that the main reason to use it is to avoid been arrested for driving under influence. Minimal amount of alcohol in blood differs from country to country and it’s really hard to get the right dose and not to be caught by police.

This handy device is very easy to use – just turn it on and breathe into the sensor for few seconds and you’ll get a result on display. Plus this gizmo has a built-in clock, but I guess this is so not important.

Features:

  • Detects/measures alcohol levels in your breath in just a few seconds
  • Indicates alcohol level in one of four levels
  • Shows results clearly on an LCD
  • 0.01% BAC (0.1g/l or 0.05mg/l BRAC) increment for reading
  • Detect range: 0.00~0.19% BAC & 0.0~1.9g/l (or 0.00-0.95mg/l BRAC)
  • Alert level calibrated
  • Auto power off
  • Clock with alarm option
  • Includes a parking countdown timer
  • Clock uses 1×AG13 battery (included)
  • Alcohol tester use 2 × “AAA” alkaline batteries (not included)
  • Unit dimensions: 100 × 37 × 17 (mm)

Flying Alarm Clock

For me personally getting up in the morning is a big everyday challenge. Frankly speaking I hate it. The biggest problem is that when you hear the alarm clock, you just turn it off or wait till the end of sound signal and then fall asleep again. Since all alarm clocks have snooze button and usually placed close to bed, they’re utility is very close to null, especially for such heavy sleepers as I am.

So, imagine such alarm clock, that you have to find alarm clock first to turn the alarm off. Make sense? Sure! The Flying Alarm Clock is a real windfall in the world of alarm clocks. The main idea that it consists of two parts – clock itself and propeller-driven key, that flies up in air when it’s time. You can’t turn off the alarm until you’ll get the key, leaping off your nightstand and plug it into clock. By the time you’ve found it, you’ll definitely wake up, just because the key may fly up and fall in some far and dusty corner of your room :-)

By the way, the sound of alarm is very loud and annoying, so there’s no chances to fall asleep without snoozing it.
