The Standalone Cassette MP3 player from Chinavasion behaves exactly like an old school cassette when you pop it into any working cassette player. Hell, I’m so old I can remember when they had cassettes like this with a cord running out the side that plugged into your portable discman. However, in the MP3 age, the Chinavision cassette doesn’t have a cord but rather slot at the bottom that fits any SD card up to 2GB. It does not come included with an SD card, so that will cost you extra, however. The unique looking cassette can also be used as a standalone MP3 player and comes with additional headphones. The Standalone Cassette MP3 needs to be recharged via its USB cable, which could suck for the long car rides with no opportunity to recharge it. Still, it’s a pretty cool idea with a pretty reasonable asking price.
