The following information seems to come out of the blue, but … they are planning to enter the e-reader market in 2010.

How about a completely new 6-inch color e-reader from ASUS by the name of DR-570? Sounds promising, yeah?!

I am ready to bet, the price will suit those who can’t offer the rest of e-readers.

Apart from the price, the new reader will feature a completely unusual and bold design – they are creating a book-like eReader complete with hinged spine.You can use as a usual ereader as well.

What is more, Asus promises to give the reader a full color screen, mic, webcam and speaker so that it could be used for Skype calls. They plan to officially announce their intentions by the end of the year.

It is rumoured that the gadget will also feature a 32GB SSD, 802.11n, Bluetooth, HDMI-out, stereo speakers and even mic. We don’t know the truth yet but it will be revealed soon. 

The tech specs are not bad at all and will perfectly suit the needs of an average user. The nettop runs Windows XP Home and features an 80GB, 120G, or 160GB hard drive. It offers 4 USB ports, a flash card reader, Ethernet and WiFi connectivity and a DVI output.

Pricing is not available yet, but it expected to be not more than $240.
