Today, I would like to touch upon a very topical theme, all about our gadgets “lifetime”. Nowadays, all gadgets, devices and appliances develop in a very quick way, so they become obsolete very soon. It is not a secret, when buying appliances, most people forget that one of the most important things they should bare in mind is the durability. Since most appliances are very expensive, nobody wants them to stay with us for a couple of weeks or months, we all want them to live long and happy life.

Of course, it is OK when our gadgets need some repairing (I mean from time to time) repairs, but it is not OK, when some parts that must be replaced are not available anymore. It happens due to a number of reasons, may be our devices are too old, or their manufacturers are not working anymore. Recently I came across this problem while looking for obsolete integrated circuits and hard to find semiconductors I was so lucky to find USBid - Marketplace for Hard to Find, Obsolete and Long Lead Time Electronic Components. There are 35+ million of gadgets in its database. Here I not not got only a needed item, but an instruction how to replace it as well.

One more reason in favour of obsolete parts replacement is such a belief, that some of them in the course of time can become really hazardous. For example, circuit boards, batteries, and color cathode ray tubes are full of hazardous materials such as lead, mercury and chromium.

Good luck to you and your gadgets!
