NEC Announces Transparent Flask Phone

Flask Phone Coming some time in ‘08 will be the new NEC Flask Phone, a transparent touchscreen cell phone that runs on a liquid battery. The idea is that you can actually see the cell fluid disappear as you use your phone so you know how much power you have left, similar to the fluid in a lighter.

The phone has a valve on the bottom to refill the coloured fuel. The fluid looks to come in fluorescent green, blue or red, with an eye-catching lava lamp sort of aesthetic. No telling how much the fluid will cost, however. In fact, NEC has released little information thus far about the Flask Phone other than photos. No word on the exact release date, specs, pricing or networks.
